Interest Deductibility

I was out talking to a friend of mine the other day and he asked me a question about the tax deductibility of interest payments. I thought that would be a great topic to talk to everybody about because even though it’s one of those things that we probably know somewhere back in the deep, dark remnants of our minds, it’s often something that we actually forget. Let me explain his situation first and how my answer relates to the tax deductibility of interest payments generally.
